I recently read 'Domesday Book' by Connie Willis. Her future made all the usual mistakes of no mobile phones, etc. but her medieval past felt absolutely spot on - so much so that I'm definitely going to read any book of hers that I can lay my hands on. (because I too have thrown books against the wall for historical errors of many kinds)
