Rainbow Reviews is doing what looks like a fun promo-come-book-giveaway in June, called the Rainbow Reviews Scavenger Hunt
if you're a big fan of m/m books and fancy an attempt to get a whole load of them for free, you can check out how to play using the link above.  I'm giving away a copy of Captain's Surrender, and there's a long list of other authors giving away books, so it could be fun :)

The Macaronis has a post about women in m/m fiction, written by Lee Rowan, author of 'Ransom'.

And the Britwriter's blog has stunned us all by being so popular it's had to turn people away.  Currently featuring posts about village fairs, stately homes, the fine art of gardening on one's allotment, cultural differences in interpretation of Torchwood, and the pearly kings and queens of London.

We've also got an all day Brit-picking clinic lined up for Friday, where anyone can drop by and ask about anything required in Brit-picking their stories/novels/fic.  I'm hoping that will be something we can do regularly which will be fun for all concerned :)

Thank you for reminding me of the Britwriter's blog (and thank you even more for the wonderful post on "Blossoms and Bygones" - the pictures are lovely and I am still chuckling when thinking of the combination of picture book cottages, mysterious Saxon chieftains that nobody can find and - - - Daleks).

*g* Thanks for being interested :) It's amazing the number of people who've wanted to join (not always British or published.) Having really clear rules on who can join and who can't doesn't seem to have dissuaded anyone from trying!

Heh, yes, it was the most bizarre but perfect fete I've ever been to, and the Daleks were really the icing on the cake. What I didn't mention in the article was that they also shot water out of their laser guns, and as it was a really hot day they were doing this with glee, chasing the little kiddies and spraying them. LOL! I want one of my own now!

Oh, hey cool, I was just asking Mylodon about Brit-picking... Thank you so much.

Yay! Thanks :) I'm really happy to know there's a demand there we can help supply. I wasn't sure if anyone would be interested, and was half expecting the whole thing to be a massive flop. I should probably advertise the thing around today, shouldn't I, so that people will know it's available :)

Oh yes, I know people need that, would it be all right though if it's just for fan fic? I'm writing American novels right now for work, (actually, as a Southern Californian with an absolute quirk for Valley Speak, I probably need American English Language 101) but I write Pros fan fic and Need a quick look at a teensy tinsy piece of that so I don't shame myself.

I don't see why not :) The example would be instructive anyway, no matter whether the fiction was fanfic or not. (I was going to put 'pro-fic' but then realized how completely ambiguous that was!

Yes, er, if fan fic is written by professional writers in the forest where there is no ear to hear them... In the meantime, I shall count on all my fingers and probably toes, to figure out our time difference so I can hand on your every word...

This looks terrific - I'll be reading. Even with two Brits picking Walking Wounded, I still got a letter from a guy in the UK castigating me for having a closet... but I've seen UK 'sell-this-home' and DIY shows that suggest such things do exist. I'm looking forward to reading the blog on Friday evening, but I'll be away from the computer most of the day. Maybe next week...

You're a real whirlwind, woman - when are you finding time to write?

Oh, yes... It wouldn't strike me, but now you mention it, I'm not sure I know what a closet is. Is it just a wardrobe, or is it a kind of built in little room which could be used as a wardrobe? I can see we'll be wishing there was some way to thread responses on WP, because you may even need a bit of back and forth questioning to work out what the question means.

Heh, and this week's been so busy I'm hardly managing to write at all. Fingers crossed for it settling down from now on!

So many terrific projects! Love the Macaroni blog already, and am thrilled at the idea of a regular Brit-pick clinic.

Thanks! I only hope it's not so very popular that we can't keep up with it (but not so unpopular that we're twiddling our thumbs). Which is asking quite a lot, now I think about it!
