Well here I am with a new writer's LJ. Not much to say at the moment, particularly as I know I don't have anyone listening :) This was just to shake the cobwebs out!
I feel very much like someone who's moved into a new house and is standing there looking at the bare empty rooms and wondering if I have enough stuff to fill it :) But getting my first ever comment on this LJ makes it feel more like home. Thanks!
Hurray! *Waves back*! I will actually be using this one most, so hopefully you won't have long to wait, though whether it will be worth it, I don't know :) Glad to have you aboard!
At present I cannot talk and listen much because I had a hellish shift (this morning, a patient decided to have an acute cardiac ischemia under my eyes) and I'm going home to snatch some sleep before a 12 hrs night shift. But I'm here. Like the sober and elegant graphic. Thank you for friending me here too. :)
LOL! I will have to do some quick decorating and painting to make it look more like home, but yes, I think this will be my new main blog from now on. Whether it will be as interesting as the old one remains to be seen :) (If the old one was interesting at all!)
Oh, I'm feeling so flattered that you added me too!
And I think a new journal under that name is a great idea. It's like a new beginning, with lots of creativity and possibilities waiting to be snatched and put to good use.
(Sorry for being so exuberant, but I've been having a hell of a month of writing applications, waiting, going to interviews, waiting again, working on probation in different firms, waiting and waiting and waiting again... but it was all worth it because *finally* the replies came fluttering into my house and suddenly the situation has turned 180° because now *I* am the one who can choose where to go and man, I'm so happy and I'm rambling again. Sorry that you get to bear the full weight of it but I have only now come home and things haven't sunken in yet... )
Anyway. I'm going off to bed now. And I'll keep an attentive eye on this journal! ;-)
Of course I would! It wouldn't be the same without you.
Yes, it's nice to start again afresh, though I don't know how interesting it will be with no fic on it. I'll have to do book reviews instead, I guess :)
Hurray for your good news! It's great to have a *choice* in these things - you must be a very desirable employee! What kind of work are you going to be doing?
I'll have to do book reviews instead, I guess :) That's great. There is never enough good Books to look forward to! And I'm always happy for new book recommendations from like-minded people!
What kind of work are you going to be doing? Will you give me your email address? Then I can tell you a little more if you want.
I'm going to try and do one for 'Lord John and the Private Matter' today, because I've got 'Lord John and the Brotherhood of the Blade' on order. I'm really looking forward to it :) And there's a great text book thingy I mean to recommend for all those historically inclined!
I'm on alex @ alexbeecroft.com believe it or not :) (It's all terribly co-ordinated! ;) )
It's all terribly co-ordinated! ;) There is nothing to be said against a bit of co-ordination :-) When I started LJ, I created an extra email address for it, too.^^
Btw, my email is on its way to you. So, inform the look-out, take your looking-glass with you to the rail and watch out for it, floating on the waves (I feel it becomes a bit obvious I have taken out my Patrick O'Brian books again^^)
Hello! And thank you :) I'm not sure whether it's allowed to agree - as it's my book - but I must admit I like it too. It's kind of hot and tasteful at the same time. (Rather like the contents, I hope :) )
