Hello! I'm newly here today after getting an unexpected but very welcome invitation this morning :) How very cool! I think that's the first lottery I've ever won :)

I write fanfiction and professional m/m romance fiction, and also make icons and book covers. And I love DW already for having a 'don't want to say' *and* an 'other' box on gender. How nice it is not to be forced to choose :)

It is fantastic! It's one of those things that annoys me every time I sign on to a new place. This is the first time I can remember where I've had a choice that didn't make me feel semi-dishonest either way.

yeah, same here about the annoyance. i don't want to push my idiosyncrasies on others, but it sure would be nice to have small acknowledgments of people's innate differences.

somebody made a survey about how people like the new features of dreamwidth, and i saw an amazingly large number of people really like the "other" option. that was awesome.

*big grin* -- it would be impossible for me not to notice m/m books; they're my largest book-buying expense these days. yay, e-books! instant gratification never was so... instant. :)

I have to admit that for me the really nice one was 'I don't want to say', because just sitting down and thinking about it long enough to come up with 'other' is more attention than I really want to give it. I can manage to angst about whether I honestly qualify as 'other' as well :) And it annoys me that people think they need to know anyway, given that I'm just a bunch of pixels on the screen here. So having *both* 'other' and 'not saying' was a real embarrassment of riches.

*g* Well, I'm three books in to my 'read 10 m/m books by August' challenge, so I'll be posting plenty of reviews, I hope :)

Hello! It's good to meet you :) And I'm very glad you subscribed - I've reciprocated. I'm not sure how much I'll be on DW though, given that I do most of my blog and LJ updating using Windows Live Writer, and I can't get it to work with DW. I'm trying to figure a way around that, though, as I do like it here :)

i'll check whether anyone on the development team uses windows live writer, and see whether we can't pummel it into submission.

Oh thankyou! That would be brilliant :) At the moment it's pretty much a deciding factor in my reluctance to use DW more fully. Though a crosspost to DW from LJ would also work just as well ;)
