Strong Female Characters and the letter J
Sep. 2nd, 2008 09:40 amA great (and funny) article on 'why strong female characters are bad for women' here (click on the Queen):

And why do I love the letter J so much? I've only just noticed, but 'Captain's Surrender' features heroes called Peter and Josh. 'False Colors' features heroes called Alfie and John. I was all set to write 'The Wages of Sin' featuring heroes called Charles and Jasper when I suddenly spotted a trend.
Does this matter? After all, 90% Proof has Alec and Tom, Angelic Conversations has Aidan and Edward... (Aargh, I'm doing it again with the letter A!)
Boys of Summer breaks the mold entirely with Darren and Ptolemy (Tony). *Cautious sigh of relief* And 'Away with the Faeries' has Ben and Chris. So maybe it's alright after all. But it's obviously something I need to be aware of!
