I recently went to Mary Arden's farm, which is another Tudor re-enactment thing, but the actors hit the sweet spot of being able to say both 'are you trying to infect me with the plague' and 'I really like your camera'. They weren't obnoxiously Tudor *at* visitors, and I adored it.
