Quechup.com WARNING
Sep. 4th, 2007 11:25 amIf you've had an invitation like this:
Quechup.com
Trouble viewing this e-mail - click here
(your friend's name here) (her email here)
has invited you as a friend on Quechup...
...the social networking platform sweeping the globe ( Read more... )
Don't accept it. Not only does it steal your address book without your permission and send out invitations in your name to all your friends, but also, if you read the TOS, it claims proprietory rights on anything you post there.
If you post fanfic there, or *anything at all* - pictures of your kids, anything - you will be giving them the right to own it and sell it on.
I got caught by one of these, because I knew the person mentioned in the invitation, but one good result of the LJ fracas is that I checked the TOS before signing up. Later I found out that Connie did not give them permission to spam her address book and had not even known it was happening.
Don't touch them with a bargepole! They make LJ look good :)
