So knackered....
Sep. 30th, 2008 04:58 pmI got to 29500 words and decided it was silly to claim I'm going to be finishing at 30K, when I have two chapters left (or maybe one long one.) So I've fiddled with the meter to reflect that:

I've done the machine sewing of Andrew's coat today, and all the hand sewing of his waistcoat except for buttons and button holes. I've also begun the machine sewing of his breeches, but I have no idea what to do with the fly. Currently there are two flaps in the front which overlap. Do I just slap buttons on and call it a day? Also, the waistband comes in two pieces which will be laced together to provide adjustability. Does anyone who has made these things before know whether you stitch a triangular gusset into the triangular hole in the back and then put the waistband on? There was no 'back gusset' bit to cut out in the pattern, but I can't see how it works without it.

I'm beginning to desperately want a day off, but I need the sewing done by the weekend, and I want the first draft of WoS finished before I get edits back on False Colors, so I don't dare. But I'm so tired!
Which explains why the blog post I did today on the Macaronis about Viking attitudes towards homosexuality is so short :)
