*g* Thanks!

Oh, it seems to be the done thing on mySpace to send your friends big pictures like this one:

to say 'have a good weekend' or 'thank God it's Friday', or 'thinking of you' or whatever, rather than actually using words. Which I thought was quite nice really.

...that's going to be one long weekend. And I wouldn't fancy the hangover.

LOL! A sentiment that applies whichever boat they're in :) But I wasn't meaning it quite that literally ;)

*g* Thanks! You too!

Men in small boat: We're going ashore, suckers!!!!

Men in big boat: Go swive yourselves!

Men in small boat: No, that's what you'll be doing. See ya later!

Do you have the font for that first one? That's really pretty.

The font is (appropriately enough) 'Jane Austen'

http://www.dafont.com/jane-austen.font

and it's good for big stuff, but it does start to get a bit difficult to read in icons :)

Thank you, I hope you have a great weekend as well!

That's a gorgeous picture, by the by. Can I ask where you found it?

[It's accurate, too---exactly 18 men in the launch!

... I, uh, just finished reading Mutiny On the Bounty. Heh.]

Unfortunately I can't remember where I got it from. I'm really not very good at keeping a record of my pictures. I was probably googling for 'mutiny' or something, but I've had it in my pictures folder for so long that I've forgotten.

Was the book good? It's one I keep thinking I must get, as I find what I've heard about Bligh quite fascinating.

It was amazing. I absolutely loved it.

Apparently it's the first part in a sort of trilogy, along with Men Against the Sea and Pitcairn's Island. Apparently Men Against the Sea has more about Bligh and what happened to his men---Mutiny On the Bounty is told from the POV of a midshipman who stayed with the ship and the mutineers, so Bligh's really only in the beginning of the story.

Oh right! I might try starting with Men Against the Sea, then. Although I guess what I'm really interested in is the factors that lead up to the mutiny and what Bligh was really like. The story of the mutineers is a rather sad and sordid one isn't it?

That's just great. Actually, I'd buy postcards like that one! Naval macros, whee! Plus, if you look at it in context with the picture, it's VERY evil, Mrs. Beecroft! ;-)

Hee! Thanks :) And yes, I was hoping no one would notice it was an incitement to mutiny :D
